First Casa Ruby Receiver Report Filed

Harrison-Stein, PC entered an appearance in DC Superior Court today — filing the Receiver’s First Interim Report in the District of Columbia v. Casa Ruby, Inc. In the court filing, the Receiver informs Judge Danya Dayton that Casa Ruby has “no meaningful assets” and that bills, invoices, and account statements indicate that current outstanding liabilities may exceed $2 million.

The law firm joins a growing number of groups from the local LGBTQ+ community who are coming together to help address the situation. It represents the Wanda Alston Foundation, Inc. — a local nonprofit organization for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth which was appointed by the court at the request of the DC Attorney General’s Office on August 12, 2022.
